Why Should I Get My Belly Checked?
If your belly won't go away with exercise or, worse, keeps getting larger, you probably have a diastasis recti. Diastasis is a separation of the outermost abdominal muscles that causes a protruding belly and belly button, as well as back pain, gastrointestinal problems, and poor posture.
How Do You Check for a Diastasis?
- Lay on back with knees bent.
- With muscles relaxed and fingers pointing down, push fingers in navel. Then lift your head.
- When the muscles first start to move, see how many fit between the muscles and how deep your fingers go down. Also check 3" above and below belly button.
